The leading source for AI in machine-tools news

About MachineToolNews.ai

We report on artificial intelligence in machine tools and manufacturing. Our coverage follows the products, people and applications shaping CNC machining, sheet metal processing, industrial robotics, manufacturing software, metrology and machine vision.

Who we write for

We write for the everyday engineer who wants to understand AI and what it could mean for their work, as well as the managers and business owners making decisions about where to invest. With so much noise around AI, we help our readers understand what the technology can do, assess the evidence and make sound purchasing decisions. We bridge the gap between the people on the shop floor and the companies creating the technology, explaining developments in plain language and connecting them to real production needs. Through product reporting, factory applications, interviews and exhibition coverage, we give engineers, machine tool buyers, factory managers, OEMs and integrators the context to ask better questions and judge whether a solution is right for their business.

Our founder

Our founder, Arfan Qureshi, brings 20 years of experience in the metal manufacturing industry. He has run a number of major industry publications, building their audiences and commercial success through a close understanding of the businesses and people they serve.

Our experience with AI goes back to building a business around it, years before ChatGPT and large language models brought it into the mainstream. Arfan founded and owned GeoBiz, the first AI-based business networking app, which was subsequently sold to a much larger organisation. That hands-on experience of developing and commercialising an AI product, combined with 20 years in metal manufacturing publishing, shapes the questions we ask and the stories we cover today.

Today, he brings those two strands together through our reporting on AI in machine tools and manufacturing, conducting industry interviews and visiting trade shows to see what suppliers are demonstrating.

Jelena Radojcic, writer

Jelena Radojcic brings a sharp editorial voice to our coverage of AI in manufacturing. Her focus is on making complex developments clear and getting to the details that matter to our readers: what a product does, where it fits in production and what supports the claims being made.

Her writing connects technology announcements with the questions facing manufacturers, giving our readers clear explanations and a practical perspective on a fast-moving industry.

Explore our coverage

AI in CNC covers machining and the software and automation around it. AI in sheet metal follows cutting, bending and related production processes.

AI in robotics covers industrial robots, cobots and their applications. Our manufacturing software coverage follows CAM, production software and connected factory systems. We also report on metrology and machine vision, including inspection and quality control.

Our events coverage helps readers follow exhibitions and industry meetings.

What we look for in an AI story

We focus on what a system does, where it is used and what evidence is available. Our reporting asks which company supplies a product, which manufacturing task it supports, and whether the information concerns a demonstration, a customer deployment or a measured production result. We aim to make the source of each claim clear and distinguish supplier statements from our own observations and analysis.
